One of the things I like to do here is to keep an eye on certain statistical combinations to see which players are checking multiple (unrelated) boxes at once. I’ve called them “magic formulas”, and I’ve been adding onto these every year. During the season, a script runs every day to see which hitters are qualifying for these “magic formulas” throughout the season and putting those names into the daily notes.

I’m going to expand that in the notes this year, and it starts right now. In the piece below, I’ll go over my two main “magic formulas” for hitters. They are:

  • Brl% vs. Contact%

  • HR% vs. Stolen Base Attemp%

Full details, thought processes, and 2023 qualifiers are below. I find plenty of draft targets and high-upside guys to watch as we go along, and we’ll be back soon after this one with the pitching side of things.

But you’ll have to be a paid sub to get your hands on it. Sign up today to get this piece and everything else I do, check out the about page here for more information.
