Giving Opportunity: Operation Christmas Child
Donate to help send boxes of Christmas toys and essentials to kids in need around the world
This is my first post here that has nothing to do with sports, but hear me out!
Every year, my church participates in Operation Christmas Child - a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse. As you may know, 10% of the profits of this Substack go to Samaritan’s Purse, so I could almost, sort, not really, call them a “partner”.
The long and short of it is that churches nationwide fill up shoe boxes with toys and essentials (like socks, toothbrushes, etc.) and send them to Samaritan’s Purse, which works to facilitate them all across the globe where they are most needed.
You can even track your boxes to see where they go and get some more information about who may have received them. My wife and I do a few every year, but I wanted to use my audience here to see how many more we could send this year.
More information about the program can be found here.
I am asking for cash donations directly to me, which I’ll admit sounds shady - so if you don’t trust me, don’t send me any money. I give you my word to put every penny of that money directly into shoeboxes (we usually put between $30 and $50 worth of stuff in each box). I will be fully transparent here, putting together a spreadsheet of each donation and then providing the receipts and tracking information for all of the boxes that my wife and I are able to put together and send out.
Feel free to DM on Twitter or leave a comment here with any questions.
To Donate:
Donations due by October 31st, we will go buy the stuff for the boxes on November 1st or 2nd. Any donations given after will just be given directly in full to Samaritan’s Purse.
