Introducing Weekly Projections
A new Google Sheet and Tableau file with detailed projections covering the next 10 days
I do a lot of stuff here, but there was definitely one thing missing. I have season long projections and really nice daily projections, but I yet to develop weekly projections. This is in pretty high demand, and for good reason. Most leagues have lineups that lock on Monday and they’re set through Sunday. So it’s a pretty big advantage to have a quick idea of how next week looks ahead of time.
Prior to today, I had pretty limited resources for helping you on that front. But now things get better.
What I do is take the next 10 days worth of scheduled games (with projected pitchers for each) and use my current daily projection model to project out each game. We have hitters and pitchers both of course. There is a Google Sheet for pitchers and a Google Sheet for hitters.
Those sheets are also under a Tableau Dashboard, and that will be my preferred method of using this. Here’s a peek:
I don’t have the hitter tabs on there yet, but I will get it done today/tonight. I just need to go workout now, I’ve been staring at this screen too long.
You can select a date range there to filter on whatever you want, it will never go out further than 10 days though. There’s a dropdown there for “Next Week Only”, and when you select “1” on that (I should change that “Y”, I think I will in the coming days), it will filter the data to only next Monday through next Sunday. Remember that this is only 10 days out, so you won’t be able to get the actual full next week projections until Friday. This is a resource best used on weekends when planning out your next week (the projected pitchers will improve in accuracy the closer you get to each day, obviously).
This is also a fantastic resource for in-week streaming if your league allows you to do that. Select a single day and sort by projected fantasy points (the F Pts column is fantasy points using the DraftKings scoring system).
The links to everything are below the paywall, so become a paid sub today to get your hands on this, and everything else here. Once you’re in, you get everything all at once.
