I’m making this one fo-free today!

I’m not sure what’s going on with Crochet and Heaney. That game was suspended in the first inning, Crochet threw an inning - Heaney never took the bump. I would imagine neither guy pitches again until the weekend. Tough break if you had one of them.
Jack Leiter is back in the Majors. You will remember that he made three MLB starts earlier this year and was awful (17 ER in 9.1 IP, 1.8% K-BB%), but the upside is still here in this matchup with the White Sox (he posted a 33.3% K% and a 10.6% BB% in AAA). I wouldn’t do it, but if you’re really in a pinch for strikeouts - there could be a bunch there.
It’s been a tough month for Corbin Burnes (20 ER in four starts), and now he faces the Dodgers - but you’re not benching Corbin Burnes.
Personally, I would be starting both Tanner Bibee and Carlos Rodon, but I have to say that they are a step behind the other elite arms here - so they go to the second tier.

Tomorrow :: 2024-08-29
Lots of fringe guys tomorrow!
I can’t give Bowden Francis the full nod of approval, but if you’ve been riding out this hot streak - it’s not time to stop now.
Sonny Gray is not in the best of form and gets a tough matchup with the red-hot Padres, but you should never bench an SP that has a 24% K-BB% for the season.
I’m in on Kutter Crawford still, the problem is the long ball, so if he just avoid Vlad’s barrel he should be fine.
I’m on the sell side of Ryne Nelson. He’s also been spectacular lately, but I think it ends here. The season K% is below 20% and the Mets are a tough lineup to get through.
I would not start Bobby Miller, but I am certainly going to pay close attention to what happens. Last time out he struck out nine with no walks and a season-best 29.2% Ball%, so the command was suddenly back. If he’s figured that out - he will quickly get into “must start” territory.
