Pitchers
Duh
Hunter Brown (73% Owned): He’s probably owned in your league, but just in case he’s not - it’s time. He’s taken advantage of some good matchups, sure, but he’s checking all of the boxes lately. The velo is up and he has a 21% K-BB% over his last eight starts.
Taj Bradley (51% Owned): A big-time 21.2% K-BB% in his eight starts. The strikeouts are great at 29% and it’s backed up by a strong 14.4% SwStr%. The long ball can be an issue for him, but the strikeout and walk stuff offsets it. He is a must-own.
Tylor Megill (22% Owned): He’s a significant step behind those two, but he’s probably available in your league and I doubt there’s anyone better. He’s looking strong this year with a 27.8% K% and 9.8% BB% for an 18% K-BB%. The SwStr% is good at 13.8% and the ball rate isn’t terrible at 37%. Inefficiency has been an issue for him, but if he can just throw a few more strikes he could really take off. I like what I’m seeing.
Shane Baz (12% Owned): He should be close to arriving in the Rays’ rotation. He has made nine starts in AAA as he returns from more injuries, and he’s certainly one of the best pitchers in the Rays organization, so you know they want him in there. It’s surprising to me that this guy is healthy enough to stand up and throw a baseball and yet he’s not doing it at the Major League level. You’d think they’d be trying to get as many MLB innings out of him as possible before he inevitably breaks into two pieces, but anyways - it has to be coming soon. Great stash option.
