We are on to week 2. After finally seeing a full week of games, we finally have some data to look at, and a feel for some of these teams. Week 2 in DFS is great because we can take advantage of the overreactions that our opponents are making after 1 week of games. As I did last week, I will do a game-by-game breakdown of players I would be targeting in each game, and how I feel about each game as a whole from a DFS perspective. I will list my favorite stacks, my favorite value options, some contrarian options to reduce our lineups overall ownership, and then my “flag plants” which are my favorite plays at each position. Jon will post his cash lineup, which is the optimal lineup from his projections. Make sure to use this in your head-to-head cash games and 50/50 double-ups, these lineups have had success every week thus far.
CAR @ NYG (-1.5). O/U 43.5
Baker failed to get his revenge last week against the Browns, finishing 16/27 for 235 yards with a TD and an INT in his Carolina debut. The real sad sight of that game though was the lack of usage for CMC. CMC finished with a 52.6% rush share, and 16% target share, very unlike his usual numbers. This will definitely be something to monitor moving forward, but if CMC’s ownership is going to take a hit, I’m willing to take shots on him this week. Saquon Barkley looked back and better than ever. He is one of the best values on this slate, a cash game lock, and will carry a ton of ownership in tournaments. Besides CMC & Barkley not much interests me in this game, definitely not a game stack candidate. With Wan’dale Robinson ruled out, Richie James Jr. at $3,200 is a great value after coming off a 28.6% target share game out of the slot.
PLAYER POOL:
Saquon Barkley, CMC, Richie James Jr., DJ Moore
NYJ @ CLE (-6.5). O/U 39.5
Another failed revenge game for Joe Flacco and the Jets. Flacco threw the ball last week an absurd 59 times, inflating a lot of the Jet’s underlying passing numbers, making them hard to rely on. It seems to be close to a 50/50 split in the backfield between Breece Hall and Michael Carter as expected, making them very hard to roster at this time. Corey Davis led the team in receiving, posting a 6-77 line on 10 targets. This Browns team is tough to figure out. Jacoby Brissett is just not an NFL level QB, throwing for only 147 yards last week on 34 attempts. However, Nick Chubb continues to cement himself as one of the best pure runners in the league. Again, I’m not the biggest fan of rostering Chubb, because I like my RBs to catch passes when it comes to fantasy production, but he makes for an intriguing play at low ownership as a 6.5 point home favorite against the Jets.
PLAYER POOL:
Nick Chubb, Browns D, Jets D, Elijah Moore
