Week 7 Waiver Wire Targets
Quick hits looking at potential players to target on the week six waiver wire.
It’s Friday, and hey I even wrote this piece yesterday so I don’t have to jam it all out before the weekend.
I also recorded a podcast going over the most interesting names in more detail:
A ton more names covered here than in the podcast, but lesser on the detail side of things.
An early look at potential two-start SPs next week first if you’re really just focused on volume:
Jack Flaherty (CLE/HOU)
Logan Allen (DET/CWS)
Luis Gil (HOU/TB)
Mason Black (PHI/CIN)
Patrick Sandoval (PIT/KC)
Triston McKenzie (DET/CWS)
Tyler Alexander (CWS/NYY)
Tyler Anderson (PIT/KC)
Teams going to Coors:
Giants (Probably vs. Hudson/Lambert/Quantrill)
Rangers (Probably vs. Gomber/Feltner/Hudson)
Teams going to Cincinnati:
Diamondbacks (Probably vs. Montas/Ashcraft/Greene)
Pitchers
Duh
Christian Scott: Promoted for a start this weekend, he has the second-highest K-BB% in AAA & MLB. Must add SP.
Paul Skenes (30% Owned): He’s coming up either this weekend or next, you can count on it.
Jack Flaherty (36%): Hopefully you got ahead of this, I’m guessing a lot of people added him after that 14 strikeout performance this week.
Brandon Pfaadt (47%): Up to 22% K-BB% now with a great 13.1% SwStr% and 32.4% Ball% combo.
Garrett Crochet (43%): Had a great start this week and is near the league lead with his 27% K-BB%.
Zack Littell (29%): We’re pretty much to the point where we just auto-add any pitcher with a K-BB% above 20%, and that describes Littell in his first six starts (21%).
MacKenzie Gore (36%): 22.1% K-BB%, 29% K%, 6.9% BB%.
Luis Severino (44%): Still a pretty low 22% K%, and that could be a problem moving forward, but he’s locating well enough (7.7% BB%) and keeping the ball on the ground (54%).
And that’s all you get for free, become a paid sub to get the rest of this post and everything else that goes on here, which is a lot.
