Popping right into it!

Blue Jays

Sleeper: Will Wagner

Player Preview.

The Andres Gimenez signing blocks him from being the second baseman for the Blue Jays this season, but there’s a chance he can get reps as the DH. He saw fewer than 100 PAs in the Majors last year, but checked a lot of boxes in that short time.

Brl%: 9.1%
Cont%: 81%
SLG: .451
xwOBA: .362
K%: 19%

In AAA, it was an elite 10% K% with a 17% BB% and an 87% Contact%. He’s elite at making contact. The bad news was that the power wasn’t really there in the minors, with just six homers in 355 PAs and a low 5% Brl%.

He does have non-awful exit velocity, though. He hit a ball at 111mph, and his 90th-percentile mark was 103.9. I don’t think he’s a 20+ homer guy, but I do think he can hit 10-15 with a really good batting average if he gets enough playing time. That makes him pretty enticing with an ADP of 500!

Bonus Sleeper: Orelvis Martinez
